Paul Gillespie is a seasoned drug discovery professional with more than 30 years of experience as a medicinal chemist at Hoffmann-La Roche, Roche TCRC, and Exelixis. As a member of the leadership team for medicinal chemistry at Roche Nutley, and of the Discovery Leadership team at Exelixis, Paul led teams to the discovery of 5 compounds that have entered the clinic. Paul has experience throughout the drug discovery timeline from target selection to involvement in non-GLP tox studies. Paul has experience in structure-based drug design using MOE, LiveDesign and Chemistry 42, and extensive experience in cheminformatics using Pipeline Pilot. Paul founded and led the hit-to-lead team at Roche Nutley for more than a decade, overseeing the triage of 47 high-throughput screens. Paul was the chemistry representative for more than 35 due diligences, several of which led to drugs entering the clinic. Paul's innovation and scientific leadership have led to 35 scientific publications and 45 patent applications.
